Together with Cornel, YO3IFO, I have put a DAPNET transmitter into operation in Bucharest.
After submitting the technical documentation and completing the official procedure with ANCOM, the station was officially approved. The transmitter is installed at my location and operated from there.
The station operates in the 70 cm band on 439.9875 MHz using the POCSAG protocol at 1200 baud.
DAPNET is a European digital paging network for amateur radio operators.
These figures show that DAPNET is a stable and active system within the European amateur radio community. The use of the network is completely free of charge for radio amateurs.
Messages can be sent through a web interface to an individual RIC address or to an information category. The messages are distributed through the network and transmitted by regional transmitters.
For the YO3 region, the regional category RIC 1013 is especially relevant. Radio amateurs who have programmed RIC 1013 into their pager receive regional information directly on their device.
The transmitter covers large parts of sectors 4, 5, 6 and 1, especially the western and north-western areas of the city.
Further testing and optimization are planned to analyze and possibly expand the coverage area.
